I am sure we all have had moments in your life that you wanted to stick with you forever. Some of us even have the same big ones anyway - the day you married, when your kids were born, etc. But I'm talking about just a random moment, one that is so sweet, or happy or funny or whatever that you just wanted to remember it, exactly how it looked, how you felt, when it was . . . I had one of those tonight and I wasn't doing anything special.
The weather has been really nice. Last week while it was warmer I started taking the kids to the park every evening - which is a doable thing for us since we're within walking distance. Then it got cold again, illness hit us hard, and we haven't gone for a few days. Finally, we were able to get out of the house this evening and go to the park. When we got there, Paige wanted to swing and then the boys wanted to swing, too. So I am swinging everyone, about to throw out my shoulder, but enjoying the nice weather and the time with the kids. The boys get tired of swinging and head off to other adventures, but Paige wants to stay. So I am facing her pushing her swing, and every time she gets to where I am she squeals and grins and laughs that sweet baby belly laugh. I start thinking - this is what its all about. I want to remember this when she's a teenager, when she's grown with kids of her own. When maybe things between us aren't as easy as they are now. I can't forget this moment, please let me remember this sweet moment Lord.
So maybe I'm just hormonal - :) - but I'm sure we all have those mental pictures we carry with us, things we never want to forget, things that remind us what life is all about.
